Extensive training and motivation
for clergy and lay leaders
This is a one-day training, usually done on a Saturday or Monday, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
It uses Dr. Pierson’s book Needs-Based Evangelism as the basis for teaching how to accomplish these proven and very effective methods of evangelism.
Dr. Pierson will also review the contents of his new book Tell, the third book in a series being published by The United Methodist Publishing House.
The Go Fish! series is a focus on evangelism and Tell deals with witnessing, or how to share our faith and tell the God Story in an authentic way in the midst of our highly secular culture today. It is a loving and grace-centered, not arrogant and self-righteous approach.
He will also incorporate the new Rethink Church materials from United Methodist Communications which encourages us to see our churches in a new way and start being the church in the world rather than just talking about it.
The training will also involve a year round program for effective evangelism for the local church. Dr. Pierson will review the Christian seasons as well as the secular and local community emphases. He will also show how this year round program focuses on using the full local church ministries and programs to reach new people for Christ.
Using these four resources, Dr. Pierson will train the participants in the very workable ways to make disciples of Jesus Christ. He will also do an extensive review of all the basic concepts of evangelism such as hospitality, good communications, worship, invitational activities and more.
