Karla Kincannon Karla M. Kincannon, is the Director of Field Education and Vocational Formation and Church Leadership, and the artist-in-residence, at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. As an artist, author, spiritual director, and United Methodist minister (Elder), Karla believes God’s gift of creativity is an essential tool for navigating the spiritual journey and a necessary element for the corporate life of the Church. Without creativity we cannot imagine a life faithful to the gospel. Imagination supports the restoration of soul in our Church and our world. Karla invites others to be courageously creative as a way of experiencing the creative heart of God in order to change the world. Karla is the author of Creativity and Divine Surprise: Finding the Place of Your Resurrection, as well as numerous articles about the spiritual journey. She has authored curriculum for the United Methodist Church. Karla lectures, leads workshops, and facilitates retreats in a variety of ecumenical settings nationwide.
